Urbin Coconut Grove was conceived as a six-story mixed-use, flexible-living project in the heart of Coconut Grove. Original plans by Location Ventures called for 54 furnished residences ranging from studios to larger multi-bedroom configurations, paired with coworking, wellness and retail components. Arquitectonica and Paredes Architects led the architectural design. Construction began but stopped in 2023, and the related Commodore Plaza properties were sold through a court-supervised receivership in 2026. As a result, the former completion schedule and original amenity program should not be treated as current commitments.
The site occupies a highly walkable position near CocoWalk and the village's restaurants, cafés, shops and entertainment. Peacock Park, Kenneth M. Myers Bayside Park, Regatta Park and Dinner Key Marina are all nearby, connecting the urban setting to Coconut Grove's waterfront lifestyle. The location also offers convenient access to Coral Gables and Brickell while retaining the Grove's tropical streetscape and independent character. Urbin's original concept reflected demand for compact, flexible homes in this central setting, but future design, residence count, pricing and delivery timing will depend on the plans advanced by the property's new ownership.
